Description

The ABB RET 650 is a transformer protection IED (Intelligent Electronic Device) from ABB’s Relion 650 series, providing comprehensive protection for two-winding and three-winding power transformers. Functions include biased differential, restricted earth fault, overcurrent, thermal overload, and transformer monitoring. The RET 650 supports IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging for fast inter-relay communication and is used in 33 kV to 400 kV grid substations.
