The MR VViii400-40-12120 Motor Drive Unit is manufactured by Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen in Germany as the drive motor and gear unit for MR on-load tap changer (OLTC) mechanisms. It provides the mechanical force to operate the tap changer between voltage positions under load, with motor ratings of 400V/40W/12 positions. The VViii series is standard equipment on MR tap changers fitted to large HV power transformers.
